Slow is smooth, smooth is productive

Professional Development & Wellbeing
Sales & Marketing
Time is limited, but work is endless. The only way to get ahead seems to be to increase our output. And what do we do when we want to be more productive? Maybe we try to do multiple things in parallel. Or just fill every little moment of time with tasks to feel like we get more done. Or we create elaborate systems of to do lists, calendars and journals. But will any of those approaches really increase our productivity? In this talk, we will explore why many of the techniques and strategies we employ to “increase our productivity” are not working. We will of course also look at what works: Tools to make the best use of the time we have, based on experience and science. And most importantly, we will look into ways that help us identify techniques that work for us.

Sarah Wachs

Founding Developer at Passionfroot & Organiser of Empowered in Tech Berlin

Sarah Wachs' dreams have changed a lot over the years – from wildlife biologist to landscape architect to editor at a publishing company. But some things have always stayed the same: her passion for stories, her curiosity, and her endless stream of ideas. Learning programming was a real revelation for her: finally, a way to bring her ideas to life! Her journey in IT has taken her from a small startup to a scale-up, to consulting – and back to the startup world at Passionfroot. In this role, she contributes not just her coding skills, but all aspects of herself: her creativity, her love for language, and her passion for making tech more diverse. In addition, Sarah is the organizer of Empowered in Tech Berlin, where she fosters community and growth among women in tech.
